About the Course
This class is a cooperative filming project between Kpopinlondonmin and Sejong institution, supported by the Korean government.
These classes run for a total of 6 weeks, and applicants are taught and directed by a dance teacher to make cover dance videos using K-pop choreography [B.I. – BTBT].
Students who want to learn dance at all levels and shoot cover videos can apply for this project. The teacher will help you to perfect your skills in order to make the best end result that you can be proud of!
However, since the class has a limited capacity of 18 people, we will meticulously read your application forms and select 18 participants.
You will receive an email from Sejong Institution letting you know whether or not you have been selected for this project.
All classes will be held in Danceworks studios (16 Balderton St, London W1K 6TN).
The class schedule is as follows:
24th September (2pm-4pm): Orientation, team assignments, and learning choreography - BTBT
1st October (2pm-4pm): Learning the choreography
8th October (2pm-4pm): Learning the choreography and formation
15th October (2pm-4pm): Team rehearsal and making details
22nd October (2pm-4pm): Rehearsal and feedback
29th October (time TBC): Last rehearsal and filming
**You will receive your dance cover video within 1 to 2 weeks after filming.**
We are excited to support your interest in Korean culture and your passion for K-pop, and this class will be an opportunity for passionate students of all levels to learn K-pop dance.
[Teacher Bibliography]
Minho is a professional Korean dancer/choreographer working in the UK. He is a seasoned K-pop dance trainer, and is the founder of Kpopinlondonmin. He is currently working at the Korean Cultural Centre, supported by the Korean government, as a representative of K-pop dance teaching in the UK.
In addition, he is teaching dance/K-pop in The School of Art, Design and Performance at Buckinghamshire New University as a lecturer. Previous teaching credits also include : Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, Richmond University, Rose Bruford College and East 15 Acting School.
He graduated from the most famous dance university in Korea - Sejong University – and completed his Masters degree in Movement Directing and Teaching at Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in the UK.
He has been dancing and teaching for 17 years and has worked as a K-pop trainer, teacher, and choreographer for various entertainment companies in South Korea.
Minho is passionate about offering inclusive, culturally responsive, and student-centred learning. He constantly studies and strives to create an effective system to make classes that everyone can learn from and enjoy together.
Terms of Participation
This course is free as it is subsidised by the Korean government. Please only sign up if you are planning to attend.
